Mental Health First Aid

Our next Mental Health First Aid training will take place on Saturday,  June 28  from 9am-3pm

"The training will benefit me moving forward because I will be more confident in helping those around me who are suffering from mental health challenges" - Sarah (Eudora)

"I left with practical and usable “tools” that I can apply at home and in the workplace to help others as well as myself."  - Robert (Topeka)

"I feel more confident helping others in need."  - Missy (Lawrence)

Mental Health First Aid Courses are designed to give individuals the skills they need to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health problem.

Participants learn the facts and warning signs of mental illness and substances use disorders. Trainees are taught how to apply the 5-step strategy in a variety of situations, such as helping someone through a panic attack, engaging with someone who may be suicidal, or assisting an individual who has overdosed.

An important component of the MHFA training is the opportunity to practice the intervention strategy. This simple experience can make it easier to actually apply the knowledge in a real-life situation.

All trainings hosted by Anchored Collective are facilitated by certified instructors from local community mental health partner agencies. Click on one of the dates below to find out more information or to register for a training hosted at our building in downtown Eudora, Kansas.

Our Mental Health First Aid trainings are intentionally interactive and will connect you with other individuals who share a similar passion to be there for others who may be experiencing mental health challenges.
