The Dress Collective
As the month of March comes to a close, we have collected 62 prom dresses, which will be offered free of charge to high school students! Prom is just around the corner and many still have dresses from previous years. Why not get those dresses to others who could use them this year? Stop by Anchored Collective on Saturday, March 29 and Saturday, April 5 to pick out your dress!

Hygiene Drive
In February we hosted a community hygiene drive, where we collected hygiene items to be donated directly to individuals and families in need. No surprise, but the community showed up! We collected thousands of items and several hundred dollars in donations. Thank you local community!

Detector Drive
During November & December, we accepted donations of new smoke & carbon monoxide detectors to be given to families serving in foster care. We partnered with DCCCA (Developing Caring Communities Committed to Action) and were able to provide them with over 50 new units that will be used to equip foster families to get their homes ready to serve kids in foster care!
Learn More
When a child comes into foster care, the first goal is to place them with family (kinship placement) or a close contact (NRKin) which could be a neighbor, friend, teacher etc. When a child is familiar with the people/person in the home they are placed with, it allows them to feel the most comfortable and safe while they go through a really hard time.
Kinship and NRKin homes step up at a moment’s notice to provide a safe placement for the child and often never intended to be a licensed foster home. For them to be a compliant and licensed foster home in Kansas, it is required that each bedroom have a smoke detector in it, and each home must have a carbon monoxide detector located on each level. We try to provide these to as many of our Kinship and NRKin homes as we can so they can easily license and begin caring for children as quickly with as little out of pocket cost to them as possible.
Thank you to everyone who donated to this important cause!

Christmas Photo Boost
We reached out to local businesses and individuals and asked them to nominate local families who might need a "boost" as we approach the holidays. We partnered with a local photographer to provide free family Christmas photos that they can use to hang in their home, create Christmas cards, and share on social media.

Sometimes families and individuals just need a little boost. No matter what they are working through, just to be provided an opportunity they may not normally be afforded can foster a sense of pride and connectedness for that family. Our hope is that family photos might bring some joy and a sense of increased love and connectedness for these families.
